Key bridge Marriot may see the wrecking ball soon. If you have never enjoyed the view from one of their rooms you should do it soon!

This wonderful hotel is being sold and maybe demolished. I watched the 4th of July fireworks here a couple times and stayed there at Christmas time as well. Great views, great place.

You don't need to book a room , just go there for dinner.

I took my prom date there for dinner before we went on to the Omni-Shoreham downtown in '89. This was the last year FCPS allowed proms outside of Fairfax County. She was a decent lay by 18 year old standards, too...well worth the investment.

Not true. Three years ago South County had their prom in PWC at the Marine Corps museum. That being said, Key Bridge Marriott had an excellent Mother's Day brunch just a few years ago. Not crowded, great view and food. Then they discontinued it..

They should have taken the "wrecking ball" to the building a month after it officially opened. Infrastructure and structural nightmare.

It hasn't been sold. There is a land lease on it.
That being said, it is an outdated hotel with a long history on a fantastic piece of real estate.

Lemme' try that again...following the 1989 prom season, FCPS created a policy wherein no proms could be held in downtown DC.

Has FCPS ever done anything that made sense? $10,000 AN HOUR for a commencement speaker? Not as bad as Hillary, but still, ridiculous still the same.

Stupid title. Land is bought by another hotel to possibly redevelop ... into ... another hotel. The view won't change just better room.
Plus the Holiday Inn is still there with practically the same view.

Either our prom was here or the after parties were. Anyway, spent the night at the Key Bridge Marriott May 1987.
I can understand why the school system enacted the new rules.
To those after us in the 1990s, we were the kids your parents warned you about and why all good things had to come to an end and why you couldn't have anything nice. Sorry.

Used to be a root beer factory there before the hotel was built in 1959. Looks good for a building that's 57.

Trump bought it to covert into a mini Trump Tower office building. He wants to keep an eye on his kids while they run his business for the next 8 years.
