Missing child is a 6 week old 9 lb baby girl believed by police to be in extreme danger. Baby is apparently the daughter of the suspect/mother as pictured above.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for parental abduction.

Suspect is Flora Khatun, a female who is 5-foot-2 and 120 pounds with brown/black hair, brown eyes and wearing a black T-shirt and black yoga pants.

Curiously, some reports describe the suspect as a white female, but the photo makes her look Asian, Hispanic, or partly so. (On the other hand, decades ago I knew a young white woman who would get such a deep tan every summer that she almost looked like a light-skinned black person.)

She is alleged to have taken the child around 11 am in the 7600 block of Little River Turnpike in Annandale on Monday.

Suspect may be in a 2011 blue Toyota Sienna with the Virginia license plate XJG1035.

How does a mom "abduct" her own 6-week old baby?

Sounds like mom pissed off the government social service people and they put an APB out on her and her minivan.

This will likely end with her being "taken into custody" without incident. Or they will put so much heat on her that she takes her own life, and maybe that of her baby's also.

Option that they will never consider: Put out word that all is forgiven and you can come back and get help without us taking your baby.

Baby found and is safe in Child Protective Services now. Rescued by FBI in Hyattsville, MD. FBI took mother in custody and she is now in PG County Jail, awaiting extradition to VA.

WUSA 9 says that their reporter located the car through a source. WUSA called it in to the police.

Not sure why the mother lost custody of the child, but apparently there is a court order against the mother.

WASHINGTON — A 6-week-old child who was the subject of an Amber Alert has been located and her mother has been arrested in Maryland, police said.

Prince George’s County police said that Liz Khatun was found safe in Chillum and that her mother was in custody.

Flora Khatun, 31, of Falls Church, is wanted in Fairfax County on a parental abduction charge.

An Amber Alert was issued in Virginia Wednesday afternoon for Liz after staff with Child Protective Services couldn’t locate either the baby or her mother, Fairfax County police said.

Child Protective Services was set to remove Liz from her mother’s custody by court order. When they could not find mother and child, staff called police Tuesday to file a missing persons report, according to Fairfax County police.

County detectives also couldn’t find the baby or mother and issued the Amber Alert to assist in their search. They also obtained the arrest warrant for Khatun.

These government do-gooders break up families all the time.

Flora Khatun is at the mercy of the system, which has no mercy to give.

They would rather give a baby to foster care than address whatever issues they have with mom.

We prevailed against the system in a similar case, but we felt lucky when it was finally over.
