as we know MVHS has the everyone passes the class policy. Students can't earn any grade lower than a 53%!
Well that didn't make a big impact on sol scores !

Algebra 1 sol scores 68%
Algebra 2 sol scors 70%
Geometry sol scores 50%

Is it that MVHS has inexperienced teachers teaching the SOL courses?

The veteran teachers take the easy way out and give the SOL math classes to the first year teachers who probably do not know how to teach for retention of concerpts and facts.

As far as that is concern, the veteran math teachers may not know how to teach either.....just bull shitters!

....and no one is investigating the issue...Who is the head of that department?
I believe that person has been there for YEARS...one would think that a change is needed with the department head if the scores continue to be below par.

Last year they got "70%" after removing some students scores.... Again even schools is much higher sol scores have better scores

No wonder parents are pulling their kids out of that school asap. If you want to go to a top school Mount Vernon won't get you there. Shitty teachers, awful lessons, corrupted IB program that's absurdly hard to pass.
