I don't align with any party. I tend to lean toward more liberal view points on some things. I didn't vote for Comstock, but I thought distributing the flags was a nice gesture. Whether you are a liberal or a conservative, we must realize we (most of us anyway) are on the same team. It's laughable to rag on her for "spending taxpayer money" to propagate patriotism. I can think of politicians who have spent money on worse things.

Propaganda, not patriotism. Money came from her campaign, not her congressional office. George W bush wrapped himself around the flag to promote the Iraq War, and look where that got us. The flag should never be used to promote a political agenda by a political party. The flag should be for all, and not be used as a political tool for promoting a candidate or communicating a political message not shared by all.

Do you have reading comprehension and effective and clear writing issues?

The flag is not to be used as a physical vehicle for a political or commercial agenda or endorsement. Therefore, it was decided no messages are to be attached to the flag itself or its mast. By keeping the flag planted in your yard, are you a proud American and endorsing Comstock, or are you just a proud American? The flag with its attached message blurs that distinction by the community, and creates a visual fuzzy endorsement by the homeowner of one particular politician in an election year.

Comstock has done this in many many neighborhoods and I think it is great. The little white note is not meant to remain on the flag mast. Even though I would be a Comstock supporter I simply removed the white message from the flag. Problem solved. Why is that so hard?
