Loudoun county has already cancelled school for the rest of the week. Will FCPS follow? Although main roads have been plowed, neighborhood roads around the county are still in terrible condition and some that have been plowed are only one lane. No possible way a school bus could fit in there. Do you think FCPS will make the call for Thursday/ Friday?

I say they'll play it day-by-day. If they decide tomorrow to cancel both Thursday and Friday, all the parents that have been stuck in their homes with their children since last Friday evening will be calling in and screaming. Inside, they know that they most likely won't be open Thursday or Friday, but they won't announce it yet at this point.

Tomorrow, they'll announce Thursday's closure and on Thursday, they'll announce Friday's closure.

I would hope they would cancel the rest of this week. Streets are not looking good right now, and certainly not good for young kids.

I agree with the above post. They'll most likely play it day by day

Nutley and 123 were terrible today... almost down to 1 1/2 lanes rather than 2. Saw a guy plow into the side of a snow bank trying to stay in his lane. Also, couldn't see past many of the snow banks that had formed at corners, especially by Taco Bell!

Loudoun county is fairly close to FCPS...wouldn't make sense for FCPS to be open

The only thing worse than being locked up with your own kids is being locked up with other peoples' kids. Bring on the snow days.

Old Keene Mill Rd has numerous places where it randomly goes down to one lane. I saw a very near miss tonight. There are going to be some accidents tomorrow.

I hope FCPS makes the right decision.

I've heard the school parking lots are coming along nicely. But based on how many sidewalks are still blocked and how many intersections can barely let two cars pass, let alone a school bus and another vehicle, I wouldn't be surprised if FCPS cancelled for the rest of the week.

Why the sidewalks? They won't open school if the walkers, particularly those in elementary school, no longer have safe routes to get to school and home again.

If FCPS schools aren't open Thursday, they will be closed on Friday as well. They never open for a one day week.

Sidewalks in Loudoun haven't been touched yet. Sully elementary school is a white blanket. This will scare all the brown children no doubt.
