Police Continue Search for Missing Woman Ahead of Blizzard

A 70-year-old woman is still missing hours before a serious snowstorm bears down on the D.C. area.

Alice Smith was last seen driving on Fairfax Boulevard in Fairfax City on Jan. 19. Fairfax County police say Smith has dementia and may be in need of medication.
Smith is known to frequent the Reston, Seven Corners and Merrifield areas. Police say churches, shelters and The L@mb Center on Lee Highway are among places she likes to visit.

Smith is 5 feet tall, weighs 135 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a purple coat, a maroon shirt, blue jeans and a blue and white scarf.

Smith was last seen driving her blue 2000 Ford Escort. A license plate number was not provided by police.

A blizzard warning has been issued for the D.C. area from 3 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Sunday, meaning a snowstorm with winds exceeding 35 mph is expected. The storm could dump as much as 30 inches of snow on the region.
