Magnifying Glass Caused FFX House Fire

Units responded to a house fire Friday, November 20, 2015, at approximately 9 a.m., in the Springfield area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 8533 Tuttle Road.

Firefighters encountered smoke coming from the first floor of the two-story home upon arrival. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and quickly extinguished the fire. Smoke alarms sounded in the home and provided early warning to the occupants. The occupants were not displaced. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $1,900.
