Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
If we all eat a large deep dish pepperoni pizza, aim at the sky, and fart in unison, maybe we can bring one of them down.
Failing that, we should pass a hat. Take up a collection. Make it worth Uncle Vladimir's while to have his Northern AF fly a PAKFA over the pole and blow the pantywaist sissies out of the sky.
Hey FBI weiner dogs ... McDonalds is always hiring.
Ugh...this is unconstitutional. If the Country is under red alert terrorism status or something then we could understand the need. We're getting 12-hrs+ plus per day coverage since July sometime and into the wee hours of the morning. We've had a few rainy days off but this is nuts.

Or as far as we know anyway.
If it's targeted to a specific individual(s) then that that passes.
But a lot of the broader, non-targeted surveillance stuff was shot down by the court not long ago. I think that applies even if it's captured inadvertently in the course of a more targeted effort.
I was home today.
Loud as all heck when the plane flew nearby.
How do they get away with that shI*t?

10:00 PM, right on time. So since these planes aren't being used for mass data surveillance, is it safe to assume that there's a terrorist cell in Burke?
I'm starting to think so but this is getting ridiculous. Don't they know they are being watched by now c'mon this needs to stop already. I don't doubt there is one here there use to be one in Annandale.
...we can only hope it's a specific target in Burke. Maybe Burke is just a convenient air space to park the planes until they are needed in an actual situation in the DC metro area.

US Rep Gerry Connolly's office is aware of this thread and they are the ones interfacing with FBI (who will neither confirm or deny anything) so who cares?
Great, at the peak of the lunar eclipse right now there is a f-ing helicopter circling very low near the Burke Target. I don't see any police spot light.
Planes have not been flying the last few nights. Maybe they finally made their move and arrested this guy? Maybe they realized he was a little Muslim kid building s clock? Who knows.
Thankfully I have not heard them much at all since the day the Pope left Philly to go home. Of course it's been mostly cloudy last couple weeks. Radar track above is interesting though.
Too bad you happen to live in the same neighborhood as the local iSIS cell---Maybe you should consider getting out while you can, since the gubt seems to love them eenough to want to keep them here.
How is this legal? Where are the local elected officials? Surely there are plenty of Feds living in the area that have to hear this crap, too. Where's the media coverage?

...it was a little bad last nite but we not are getting the 12-hr daily coverage until the wee hours like the Aug/Sept period.
There seems to be just about zero sympathy in the public or press for Burke's plight, and of course there is no such thing as the mayor of Burke to represent the town.
Where are the local mosques located in relation to the surveillance aircrafts?
You are unlucky enough to live near one, or if your neighborhood has a few isis cells, youre screwed for sure--just get used tpo the noise.
I live near Pohick Library and got a new puppy two months ago. I have watched the lousy Cessna doing lazy circles over my house all summer. Lately, my dog has been getting irritable, chashing its tail, and in short, going crazy. He's a 5-month old Yorkie (OK'd by the vet to be in perfect health) and has been fine until this week.
My dog is really uncomfortable and I've tripped the house circuit-breaker to rule out anything humming in my house. Something changed in the frequency spectrum that is really making this pup miserable. I'm having his ears checked first thing tomorrow.
Right now, I'm down to blaming either crickets or the FBI.

It seems to me that the FBI is driving your dog nuts with their incessant surveillance. The telltale sign for me is him running in circles, mimicking the airplane that is bothering him. Years of therapy are in your future...
Here's an old Wired article from 2006 which says that these planes have been spotted around the same time that suspected Al-Qaeda operatives were apprehended in the area of Lodi, California.
Spooky stuff.... (btw, N632MR is up at the moment. Replaced N610AG which was flying for most of the afternoon)
I wonder if this aircraft cannot do circles for reason, or this more scattered pattern is an attempt to not fly over the same houses (mine) all the time.
Why does the second map sent by Theendlessloop not include the tracking of the plane in its last position indicated on the first map theendlessloop sent less than an hour earlier?
Yes I hear them. I also always hear a real Low requency Hum...... Like a heart beat. Twinbrook ish. That Outback is no longer potable. These Planes were not here in 77 when we moved in. I expect, they are keeping us safe. I hope. Still Jhunne Rheee round here. Wish I had a chance to meet him. Not kiddin on that.
Nice article find PeeOde. Flights yesterday seemed to land before the storms rolled through, didn't hear them come back once everything had passed. Expecting another 4:00PM start time with the clear skies today?
It only updates every 10 secs or something like that so they guess the planes trajectory which for our circle flying plane is completely different and hence their algorithm messes it up and places it where they would expect it to be at x time, but then they get the actual next waypoint it is at and update it. That is why all the paths look dont look curved and more like a ton if straight lines, the flightradar site is just drawing an approximation of how the plane got from point A to point B and is really just guestimating where it was inbetween radar pings. So it is pretty much approximate but when a plane is flying in a straight line it is accurate, however the circle flying planes are of sucg nature that they are hard to model when the pings only hit every so often.

That would make more sense if they didn't regularly fly and plot out perfect circles. I've actually watched them fly more straight lines, criss-cross, boxes, and various other patterns at times. I mean watching them in the air not on the flight tracking sites. Though you can see the same there when they do. I'm right at the outside of a point on the regular circle so it's pretty easy to see the overall track and pick up what they're doing relative to my position.
I'm pretty much convinced at this point that they must be testing things. That's the only explanation that makes sense to me for constantly flying over that same area all the damn time. Would make sense with all of the FBI presence in this area.
^ Meant to say above... The pattern above isn't that they're plotting out an un-smoothed circle which is jagged as a result of missing data points. If you look closely it's mostly a series of many overlapping fairly large box patterns.
This shit has got to stop. I don't know who thought it would be a great idea the flyer out and fucking circles in Burke, as well as Fairfax station, Annandale... My parents even see it in their neighborhood. When I Drive in every morning ic one off to the side that appears to be flying along with traffic. I have seen a whole lot of black helicopters as well. People in this area should not be harassed buy these things. This shits been going on for almost 2 months now . Go bother another city. Go bother the cals in Haymarket or Gainesville. You had your fun and Burke and Fairfax station and elsewhere
Stop stalking and harassing innocent people in this area. No one wants toto sleep every night hearing A dull hum of a plane circling around incessantly 4 hours on end. There does not need to be constant surveillance of everybody in this area. It's annoying, uncalled for, and has to stop. I wonder what person made that decision. Let's fly around in circles every night and drive people nuts. We deserve much better. And it's sad to know that my taxpayer money is going to good use watching them fly around in circles every night, or follow along with traffic, or god knows what they're doing. But this is gotta stop
Past few nights I have not seen much activity when I checked. There have been a few fairfax county police chopper activities but they were not really in the Burke area (one nigt was near masonneck and one night over some highways)
Oh no. They are there. Just at a higher altitude. They can go up to about 25k feet. Take a look out your window when your driving. I see them flying along side the road all the time. Shit's annoying. Us individuals who are just looking for peace and quiet have to deal with this shit...or those fucking helicopters. They haven't the decency to say what they're mission is to fly constantly for over 2 months straight all day all night. What the hell does Burke, annandale, fairfax and whatnot have that's to be watched? No offense but those aren't exactly exciting cities
Meanwhile some people are starting to get livid that they are always there. There's no need to fly helicopters and planes all day. Watching. I have to hear that shit nightly when they fly (right next to Burke Lake Park), and they've flown over my parents house often - I see then when I visit. Shit ain't right. Go bother the cows in Gainesville. They won't mind. And seeing this blinking light when you're driving in in the morning or at night is aggravating. What do they possibly need to watch EVERY DAY and NIGHT for? Then they won't say anything.
I have no way to prove this, but my guess is Ffx Co. knows what is going on and has given permission. When you call Ffx, they tell you to call Connolly's office his staff says they know nothing about it (plausible deniability) but presumes it is an FBI secret activity.
You guys can take your tinfoil caps off. Megan Toohey has rented a plane again to drop bombs on mean FFU posters. If you are one of those mean FFU posters, you are fucked! BOOM!

Fairfax County doesn't give permission to fly in the air, nor do they have to. Federal Airspace is the exclusive jurisdiction of the Federal government.
I don't think one over Fedex is out of the ordinary. Stuff like that is a nightmare for the Feds where they need aerial support due to the massive crowds. Now I would be interested what type of event it was because October 16th there wasnt a Redskins game. I couldnt find it online with a quick search though, but maybe it is something the target the FBI is following attended.
NE DC is probably some embassy/spy type of person or government figure.
I could be wrong, but I think there's been one flying over Lee HS along with a helicopter. I'd say I'll be happy when they're gone - but I don't see that happening any time soon. They're like the annoying neighbor who won't go away.
I am less ticked off now as the spy plane activity has slowed down over Burke. For 2 months we had almost 12-hrs every day 4PM to 4AM from about late July thru to end of Sept/early October, constant drone noise in the air. For all I know, they could still be up there 1-hr a day but now we can thankfully go to bed without the constant background noise.
Meghan Toohey rented the plane again based on a lead that mean FFU posters were located at a specific place in the county. It was just Megan's rented plane flying around looking to drop pipe bombs on mean FFU posters. Once again, you goons can take off your tinfoil hats.
Looks like they started in Bristow, followed someone to Potomac Mills Mall, then up 95 towards the WW bridge, down to Fort Washington, then back up to Old Town Alexandria. Flying at 8200 feet tonight.

These a-hole are flying those stupid planes over where I work every damn day as well. They are also flying black helicopters - or at least I think they are the same people everyday as well. I see a lot of black Suburbans everywhere we drive. My lady friend and I have found it to be completely annoying and harassing. I don't know what the fuck they're looking for, or who they're trying to impress but this shit has got to stop. We don't need to have surveillance on us 24/7, 365. What gives them the right the fly around and harass people and not tell anybody what they're doing. If I am not mistaken there was recently something that stated they needed a warrant to do as such. I should not have to see them everywhere I go everyday. Me personally, I have nothing to worry about because I'm the most boring person on the face of the earth - and I have no problem admitting that - but there is no need for me to have to see those individuals every single day. I don't want to see their stupid Cessna planes. Don't want to hear them. Don't want to see their stupid helicopters. Don't want to hear them... It's just gotta stop. I have lived in this area for over 27 years and never once in all my life have I had to see shit like this go on. This is approaching 3 months straight. This is flat out harassment. I don't give a fuck where you're from the following people in flying overhead every single day is unwarranted. There is no reason for it
Looks like we got a Muslim Terrorist on our hands. He seems to have been followed from the Islamic shopping Center in Manassas through Woodbridge and finally to the hotel at the Gaylord center. Hopefully if this is a terrorist the FBI will nab him before he strikes.

Yet again the a-holes are out flying around. You can't always hear them, but you can definitely still see them. I wonder how long this shits going to go on? I mean hell, what the hell are they doing surveillance for anyway? At this current point I think they're doing it just to piss people off. They aren't exactly a welcome sight the see everyday. moreover, what is so interesting about Burke Annandale and Fairfax? Not only that, but they're wasting our taxpayer money. My money should not go to an organization so that they can fly airplanes and helicopters around people. Shit has to stop. It's not like we can't see you in the sky when we're driving, walking, or just chillin at home. Go spend your time focusing in other cities. I hear Detroit is lonely

Why do you view these planes as a personal affront?
If you can't hear them, what's the problem?
They aren't doing anything illegal, that we know of. You have no expectation of privacy in public. Outside is public.
Look like the CIA have a traitor in their midst at their secret locations in Warrention they will evactuate the president too in event of nuclear war.

The good news is after 2 months of saturation coverage in Burke, we have had a month of relative peace and quiet.
The bad news is that I have become sensitized to the situation. Every time I hear a Cessna in the sky, no matter where I am, I figure 95% chance this is an FBI plane spying on the public.
My wife couldn't care less, so now she is pissed at me for being upset about it. It helps me if we cannot hear the constant noise. But I think the FBI needs to rethink it's tactics.
There is also a political element to this, as I assume this is an Obama administration-approved FBI tactic. So I am thinking there tends to be partisan support of the Cessna-based FBI surveillance from Dems, and maybe support from other groups.
But we should not approach this as yet another partisan fight issue. The question is: does the purpose justify the tactics, secrecy and inconvenience?

no doubt. the circles over burke were all over the place before, but the pilot's in a tight circle now. like they've renewed their resolve to catch these guys.
