Like all serious cyclists I am very conscious of the weight of my ride. My Glock adds an extra 30 oz. but along with my helmet and lights I feel it is necessary for safety. I just flash it to the idiots that rant at me and they hit the gas and keep going. Anyone that puts me in a ditch is going to get the back of their car filled with rounds if I can get on my feet.

It would be cool to have one of those pepper spray canisters like the cops have for riot control to spray at cyclists that are using roads that belong to motorists. That would teach them.

You should be able to get a subcompact 9mm weighing in around 16oz if you're weight-conscious.

By the way, can someone who understand these cycletards explain why there was a cycletard riding on FFX Co PKWY last week when there is a nice wide bike lane 10 feet to the right of the road? Is it a passive-aggressive thing? They get no respect in life because they're cuckold faggots, so they take it out on normal folks driving their cars by riding in the road when there is a perfectly good bike path available? Perhaps they want to die so their cats can get their insurance money?

Well, I can try. The person had somewhere to go and he had to get there. He likely was not on vacation or just peddling around like you do on Sunday. He had things to do and people to see. Just because your vehicle is bigger, does not mean you own the road. Hopefully, this educated you a little.

Yeah, I wonder the same thing. We have these paved trails and the douches ride in the car lanes. Another thing the shit for brains do is routinely run the stop signs wherever the W,O&D trail crosses a road.

They almost shit in their padded underwear.

You cyclists in Reston are all assholes if you ride on the roads.

Reston has over a hundred miles of bike paths, but you cycling morons continue to drive on the streets hindering traffic. You all are a blight on society, and it doesn't bother men when your fork fails, and you die.

I always thought it would be so cool to have a couple pump sprayer tanks in the trunk of my car that were filled up with vegetable oil. The tanks would be pumped up and the nozzles would go through a hole in the floor of the trunk and be aimed at the right hand side of the roadway. You could put 12volt solenoid valves on the pump sprayer tubing so the flow of the oily spray could be controlled by a dashboard switch.
With a set-up like that you could oil up the edge of the road after passing some cycletards an cause them to crash. That would be so much fun to have a set up like that but because its illegal I would never do it. It really would be great to use that set-up in hilly areas but like I said, even though it would be easy to make a road sprayer I will never do it because it would be illegal and I would NEVER do anything illegal.

DC and Capitol Hill are terrible .. you'll have one dart his bike toward your car purposefully, then pull away .. as if they are going to turn in front of your car suddenly

this really is dangerous. they need to give hand signals.
It's more dangerous for them than anyone else. If cars collide, we have some amount of protection .. the guy on the bike without a helmet in DC is just asking for it.

You Are Not Special Nor An Elite Class so stop acting like you can bully your way into changing driving culture ... when you don't look out for your own wlefare by signaling and stopping at red lights!

Hitting a cyclist out on the road is a public service. Cyclists make the choice to put themselves in harm's way so if they get killed or put in a wheelchair for life it is their choice and they deserve it. Never cut a cyclist even the slightest break, fuck them.

Stick to the paths made for bikes and stay off the roads. If you go on a road stay to the side shoulder out of traffic. Do it not, you will piss off the wrong motorist. Might be hard to shoot when you've been crushed by a truck.

A cyclist got all shitty with me a a stoplight on Reston parkway yesterday. He said that there is a law that requires vehicles to stay at least 3 feet from cyclists when passing them. I admit I cut it kind of close but my mirror was at least a foot away from him. I know it was a bitch move but I just flipped him off and drove away. He really needed an ass beating but I just didn't want all the hassle of him maybe getting me locked up after I beat his face in. Has anyone ever heard of a bullshit law about staying 3 feet away?

Honda pilot,

You have a driver's license and don't know that you have to pass a bicyclist with three feet clearance minimum in Virginia, DC, and Maryland?

Why would any driver get behind the wheel if he didn't know the rules of the road? On the really off chance you have doubt, please see:

http://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title46.2/chapter8/section46.2-839/

§ 46.2-839. Passing bicycle, electric personal assistive mobility device, electric power-assisted bicycle, moped, animal, or animal-drawn vehicle.
Any driver of any vehicle overtaking a bicycle, electric personal assistive mobility device, electric power-assisted bicycle, moped, animal, or animal-drawn vehicle proceeding in the same direction shall pass at a reasonable speed at least three feet to the left of the overtaken bicycle, electric personal assistive mobility device, electric power-assisted bicycle, moped, animal, or animal-drawn vehicle and shall not again proceed to the right side of the highway until safely clear of such overtaken bicycle, electric personal assistive mobility device, electric power-assisted bicycle, moped, animal, or animal-drawn vehicle.

1981, c. 585, § 46.1-208.1; 1989, c. 727; 1999, c. 999; 2001, c. 834; 2002, c. 254; 2004, cc. 947, 973; 2014, c. 358.

Please also note that you are legally allowed to pass the solid line markings to pass a person on a bicycle or foot, if you can do so safely, for example giving a bicyclist at least three feet clearance.

http://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title46.2/chapter8/section46.2-804/

. . .5. Wherever a highway is marked with double traffic lines consisting of a solid line immediately adjacent to a broken line, no vehicle shall be driven to the left of such line if the solid line is on the right of the broken line, except (i) when turning left for the purpose of entering or leaving a public, private, or commercial road or entrance or (ii) in order to pass a pedestrian or a device moved by human power, including a bicycle, skateboard, or foot-scooter, provided such movement can be made safely. Where the middle lane of a highway is marked on both sides with a solid line immediately adjacent to a broken line, such middle lane shall be considered a left-turn or holding lane and it shall be lawful to drive to the left of such line if the solid line is on the right of the broken line for the purpose of turning left into any road or entrance, provided that the vehicle may not travel in such lane further than 150 feet;

Cops get to shoot people in the back for fun with no recourse. Why can't civilians aim for cyclists. This society is so unfair.

A fun game you can play with cyclists is called "Lookout!"

Two people are in a car and when they ride up behind a cyclist the passenger screams out the window "LOOKOUT!" a second after the scream the driver blows the horn and briefly pulls on the emergency brake to make the rear tires screech. The reactions from the cyclists are priceless! Sometimes they fall off the road into a ditch. I have never played this game though because it might be considered illegal even though the game is really to help cyclists to be more aware on the road.

Cycletard gets punted off the roadway into a barbed wire fence! A classic! I hope he was in a lot of pain.

That is great! Not sure if thats illegal or not as you have no physical contact with the bike riding bitch.
I saw a cycletard get punted off the roadway by a cab in Bethesda this summer it was so awesome and the cab driver did not stop lol!

On wed I was returning to annandale on Columbia pike from baileys crossroads. It was after dark. Suddenly cars in front of me in the right lane slowed. I thought there was a wreck. No, just two moron cyclists who happened to be black. They were going really slow up an incline. These were not the type that are real cyclists. They were ameteurs.
Instead of one following the other at the edge of the road, these Einsteins were riding side by side, taking up the whole right lane. Rush hour was still going on and buses pass by there regularly. I purposely honked really long and passed as close as possible without hitting them. These were adults. I wouldn't have done what they were doing even at 10 yes old.

Does not matter whether if you're driving a car or truck or riding a motorcycle or bicycle: an idiot on the road is an idiot on the road.

I ride about 4000 miles a year which includes commuting to and from work. Doing so takes a car off the road. I ride at night with lights, keep as far right as possible, and signal my turns. To get to the W&OD, I got only a few choices; most of them bad: Pickett, Prosperity or Woodburn. It sucks if you got to wait a bit to safely pass me, but it sucks a lot more to ride these streets on a bicycle.

While I've seen cyclists do some asine things, there are many, many more stupid drivers, especially in this area.

Yesterday afternoon on Zion Road, a little old lady (yes, with white hair and barely able to see over the dashboard) kindly let me know as she passed by to ride on the sidewalk instead of the street. (BTW, not a bad idea given Zion was milled all the way from Rt. 123 to Guinea.)

Guess what? In VA, cyclists traveling on roadways have all the general rights and duties of drivers of vehicles.

I saw a foot-powered vehicle the other day on Baron Cameron in Herndon/Reston. It could go about 30-35 mph. The traffic was trying to go about 40-45.

I travel both by car and shorter distances by bike, local market on nice day if only getting a few items.

I respect the traffic laws in either mode of transportation, for example especially if at intersection on a bicycle, I wave the bigger car through as a matter of courtesy and safety first. With bicycles, common sense, stay on neighborhood streets or low speed roadways less than 45 mph, on roads with wide lanes giving cars plenty of room to pass you without crossing the double line, or if available on bicycle trails or even sidewalks if not congested (believe police would rather see one safe than dealing with an accident scene), bicycle at times when traffic is lighter such as on Sunday morning; and if bicycle after dark, make sure am visible with fluorescent vest and stripping on helmet, and front and back lighting and wheel reflectors.

Yes, I have seen more experience cyclists ride the far right on major highways, such as Lee Jackson Memorial Highway to the point of impeding car traffic, and of course, those who ride without helmets or without any lighting after dark are asking to get hit by a car or serious accident sooner or later. Fairfax County has made some great strides, with volume of car traffic, adding bike trails along major roadways, Braddock Road past Burke, parts of Little River Turnpike, Fairfax County Parkway as examples, but there is still some more work to be done there.

Fuck the laws. The reality of the situation is that cyclists who use the roads that were built for motor vehicles those cyclists deserve to die or at least be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of their lives.

You forgot the ladders, especially those MexiVans where they do painting and drywall. I saw some guy get ladders dumped all over his shiny, new Prius by this MexiVan. Four beaners got out of it and shrugged their shoulders. The Prius was all banged and scratched up. I saw the thing, so I stopped. I told him he shouldn't be mad because these are the "Dreamers"he wants let in this country. I also told him to be glad they didn't ruin his READY FOR HILLARY bumper sticker.

It was some bald-headed four eyes libtard cuckie. I bet he wears a shirt and tie when his "wife's" bull comes over and leaves a creampie for him to clean out.

Road cyclists are some of the worst human beings on the planet. They want to "share the road" but don't obey basic traffic laws. The best example of this is when they come to a red light where everyone is stopped. They conveniently ride in between the stopped cars instead stopping when they come up to stopped cars. Then they wait until the traffic is clear and they ride right past the red light. They want "share the road" and ride on the road when there is a perfectly good side walk. But when it is inconvenient they play the "I'm not a car" line.

To anyone who has a road bike-Go fuck yourself in the ass you fucking ass holes.

I saw this bicyclist on the trail by Vienna YELLING at this father with a kid on a bike, saying the kid was in the way, and that it was unsafe for him to be on the trail because it was "495" for bikes. A police officer on a bike actually had to intervene/explain to this a-hole that the kid on a bike and the people walking on the trail had the right-of-way, not him -- it was surreal. The bicyclist with his tighie outfit on was so arrogant, rude, believing (wrongly) that he had the right to travel at high speeds and that no one should be getting in HIS way. Super jerks -- a lot of them.

Next weekend should be prime season for cycletard crashes.

The only -tards are those fools that don’t understand it is the LAW that bikes may use the entire lane. Not all roads have parallel bike paths and bicycles have the right to make left turns. If you don’t know the law, get off the road, whether you drive or ride.

Saw tons of other drivers turn on red without complete stop, and drivers running stop signs without complete stop just today.

If any of you Libtard cyclists follow me home realize that you do so at your own peril. You have been warned!

The legality is outline here, http://www.virginiadot.org/programs/resources/bike/BPAC_150422_SharingtheRoadinVirginia.pdf.

If you go below the speed of traffic you must hug the right in a single filed line , otherwise fine go ahead and take up the lane. These fucking shit head elderly bike jockeys dont understand this and hold up traffic so they can beat heart disease. And guess when of all times, during rush hour LMAO. These people are the scum of our society, I'll be following up with Fairfax police but I doubt they'll do anything.

With the warmer weather we should hopefully see some cycletards involved in traffic accidents.

Cycling is about freedom and liberty. It is also a great form of exercise that keeps ones body healthy. It's no wonder these fat, lazy, liberty hating libtards hate it. Libs hate anything good and positive.

The laws do not adequately reconcile the use of bicycles as vehicles on roads in Virginia. For example, it is legal to pass/overtake a bicycle with an automobile providing the automobile gives at least three feet of clearance from the bicycle rider's left shoulder. This also requires that the rider will move to the far right of the lane while being passed.

However, the law is not clear to me as to whether or not the driver can cross a double yellow line while passing under these conditions. Moreover, passing any "vehicle" requires assessing the oncoming traffic in the opposite lane. That's not often possible in a country setting with narrow lanes, hills, and curves...and this is where you find more bicycle riders.

Therefore, as a practical matter, I never pass a cyclist and create a parade of pissed drivers behind me. My guess is that one of them will act out in rage and cause violence against the cyclist. This way, I win twice because I will get one cyclist of the road and one entitled driver in the lock up. Fuck 'em both. It's a good use of my free time.

David Salovesh was recently killed while riding his bicycle in Washington DC. These cyclists know the risks yet they opt to ride these stupid bicycles anyway. This guy deserved what he got and it could have been worse if he survived and was paralyzed for years. The driver of the car was speeding but this never would have happened if Salovesh hadn't made the decision to put himself in harms way.

Bicycle faggots don't "pack heat". Firearms scare them.

And honking your horn is perfectly legal when notifying them of your presence. It isn't your fault if your legal action scares them.

Re: Louie Chevrolet

You got both a shit name and a shit car.

Dave was riding his bike in the bike lane on Florida Avenue as MPD gave chase to a stolen vehicle.

The car thief, Robert Earl Little, sped through a red light @ 12th Street, crashed into another vehicle, crossed over the double yellow lines, ran over Dave, and then crashed into a tree.

Dave was pronounced dead at the scene.

Little suffered only minor injuries.

Dave was not asking for it.

Dave did not deserve it.

You completely suck.
