Fairfax, for its size, has needed this for a long time. But, the police, after years of no oversight, won't like it.

County with 1.1 million residents with a police department with only 1300 officers, maybe even less then that, with very low crime rates. The ratio of officers per residents is one of the lowest in the country of a jurisdiction the size of Fairfax but yet still has some of the best crime stats.

It seems they are doing something right.

What would a civilian oversight board give us?
