There is no good way to get from Fairfax to anywhere in Maryland during rush times. Best bet is to double whatever time you think you can reasonably make it there in, and grab something to eat in MD if you are early and can find somewhere that looks safe to stop the car. In other words hit a drive-thru and hope you don't get killed while the car is trapped there.

Take a plane, helicopter, or boat across the potomac. And then get a friend, taxi, or other car serivice.

Otherwise, drive west to rt 15 crossing north of leesburg or even farther to harpers ferry. Thats the only way to get across unless ya want to go south and cross near fredericksburg, but good luck getting south, becuase that will be gridlocked too.

Seriously, can't you wait for this act you want to see to show up at Nissan or the Patriot Center?

Nissan or Patriot Center???
Who comes to the Patriot Center anymore besides the Wiggles?
Nissan is a hell hole. It's probably quicker to get to/from Merriweather anyways.
