Jeff Atkins of Centreville?

A friend of my daughter's from high school JROTC passed away this weekend, and I'm wondering if he was the victim of the crash on GW Parkway. The Jeff Atkins she knew was from Centreville and was a wonderful young man - just wondering if anyone knows what happened to him? Thanks.

My son was in OSUT at Benning with Jeff and is mourning his loss today. He has no details, other than that he died in a car accident.

From what I hear from one of his family member, it was not motor accident. It was drug overdose. I do not know if it was accidental.

Even more sorry to hear this. My son was under the impression that it was an MVA because of what someone had told him. He had actually talked to him on Facebook Friday night and had gotten a reply on one of his FB posts later on. He has taken Jeff's death rather hard because he was a military brother.

Jeffrey did die of an overdose. We spoke to his parents directly. This is very sad as he was loved by all. Service is Saturday at Baker Post Funeral Home.

Seriously, if it was an overdose, then it's important to people who use drugs to know what drug it was so that this doesn't happen again. Can someone with knowledge of the situation please inform us what drug it was.
