Another swath of snow and ice is expected to sweep across the northeast tomorrow evening causes major travel delays. The snow and ice is expected to begin while students will be at school prompting the decision to close schools for the day would be wise. Another storm will sweep in Wednesday starting as rain, but changing over to snow as an upper level low is forced down behind the snow resulting in accumulations of 2-3 inches Thursday morning. The cold temperatures are expected to leave a day after the low comes through, causing temperatures to rise back to normal. Trends show this will be the last chance for snow for the year. This will leave Fairfax county public schools with 2 unused snow days and you never know maybe there will be another closing due to floods, during the rainy season. Students will also have march 16th off as a student holiday and spring break march 30th - April 3rd and the following Monday April 6th for Easter. If you are an FCPS student enjoy.

FCPS is going to have to find a backbone in March with the way things are going. If they keep cancelling school for so-so weather they're going to use up the reserve. Then what? Go into a deficit and start adding days into July?

It seems like March may be a "wintery month".
