Does anyone happen to know generally how long substitute orientations last? I'm going to one fairly soon and want to know how much time to set aside for it.

SO AFTER ALL THIS SNOW DAYS FCPS TEACHERS ARE STILL TAKING A DAY OFF?

Not the point. Just asking how long the orientation is. Doesn't mean they're calling in substitutes right now.

The OP is asking about orientation for a newly hired substitute. Before a person can sub he/she has to complete the orientation. That's all.

About 4 hours. Watch videos, fill out paperwork, get entered into sub system, learn hot to navigate sub system, pick clusters, schools, grades, get fingerprinted, get photographedd, wait for background checks, wait for IDs. Its a cattle call.

Do they do background checks for sex offenders or just drugs and that kind of stuff? Don't want to waste my time if there's no hope of passing.

We don't drug test in FCPS ;)

They look for everything- drugs and sex offenses. If you have anything on your record, report it.
