What is the best dish at Springfield or Merrifield Silver Diner? Going today.

The best dish at Silver Diner? That's easy...

I'd recommend the exit door with a side of the drive over to The Metro 29 Diner on Lee Highway in Arlington. And for dessert, a vow NEVER to go to poser diners ever again.

Silver Diner...muffakah's talkin' 'bout Silver Diner...

There is nothing wrong with Silver Diner as long as you realize that this is a Disney Fantasyland version of what an actual diner is/was. Sure, the ambiance is completely fake, but kids love it, and the food is plentiful and at least not actually terrible. There are a lot of worse places you could eat -- like anywhere that Scott Walker was speaking.

I dunno about that. I was invited to a dinner at 21 with Walker a few weeks back. It's a pretty decent place to eat.

Obviously, you were not able to accept/afford the invitation, or you would know that it's the Walker-induced vomiting that causes all the problems. There is nothing so good going down that it isn't just a disaster coming back up.

You must be awfully afraid of Scott Walker being elected President to keep posting this drivel.

The "man" is nothing but a Koch-robot. He has as much chance of being elected President as this guy...

For someone who has zippy chance if being President, you seem awfully interested in him.

Wasabi, salmon, and 'sliders' have no business in a diner. But they do sound delicious.

We went and I left feeling raped. $70 tip and tax for 2 kids meals, 2 adult lunches 3 drinks and one side. We could have gone to a real restaurant for that. Diners are supposed to be basic and inexpensive not the same price as a real restaurant - thats the whole point of being a diner.

Silver diner is a fake diner. If you like sitting in a booth and paying what you would at a sit-down establishment this place is for you. Where are the real diners in this area?

It's been delicious and friendly the half dozen times I've been there since they reopened.

Awww...you so sad, bro. We know how butt-hurt you are. We all know. Tell you what...

Why don't you go back down to your room....errrr, I mean your parents' basement? Don't worry Mommy will be down soon to smother your genitals with marshmallow fluff while Daddy plays hide the nine iron in your ass and then watches you lick your own shit off the end of it. Then you can all watch "My Little Pony" together...

I had to eat there last year when my power was out, it was the first place I drove by that had electricity. It's not that good, like Bob Evans or Denny's but more expensive. I had some kind of pot roast dish that wasn't that great. And as soon as I got home, I sharted.

I had the meatloaf there yesterday. It was pretty good. The Mac and cheese was bland. Thought the prices were steep $12. 3 of us ate and with tip $50!

I have not eaten in a Silver diner for many years. they have been around a long time and it was at least 15 years back I ate breakfast at the one in Rockville and knew how much I was spending but it was high for a simple bacon and egg and toast breakfast about 7 dollars plus tip.

Then I had meatloaf and mashed potatoes at one in Va I think the one by the Animal shelter on West ox. It was so so that was it, no where as good as what I would have got years back for a school lunch or at Dixie Pig on Rt 1 in its day.

I ate there once more a tuna fish sandwich and a tiny cup of chicken and salt noodles 7 dollars plus tip, that was it. Asta La Vista Baby! No More.

Life in The Big County thats what it is around NOVA, Too expensive for most mom and pop places

29 diner is much better for the money, The Virginian in Vienna, Anitas, Shoneys, Dennys, Old Country Buffet Ya Thats Right! I have had some good spahgetti at Amphoras in Vienna and Joes Pizza and Pasta too great lunch buffet. Even all the fast food joints for breakfast, but I will say it takes 20 minutes to unwrap all the plastic on McD's big breakfast and by then its cold.
