Worst apartment complex in the county?

What's the worst apartment complex in the county? I nominate Springfield Garden Apartments on Commerce..

Another thread mentions: "several of the apartments at the Springfield Garden Apartments over on Commerce St. have been turned into trick pads. MS-13 may or may not be running them."

I drive past these apartments daily and they do look rough from the outside.

Looking through the arrests there's a lot of license/identity crimes, and a shitload of assaults and drunk in public. If the INS ever raided that complex, it'd be a ghost town.

Which ones are as bad or worse?

Edit: I found an article from late 2008 saying they're going to tear that whole place down and rebuild it into upscale apartments soon. http://209.85.173.132/search?q=cache:huisVlaq2JUJ:www.springfieldcivic.org/SCA%2520mtg%2520of%2520Sept%252016,%25202008.pdf+%22springfield+garden+apartments%22+renovation+plan&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-a

Shenandoah Crossing, Chantilly - dirty, bad management, shitty apartments. bad maint. Dirty , nasty and filthy! But had some nice racquetball courts.

-Lincoln at Fair oaks, Fair Oaks- Shitty management, Way over priced, Very small and poorly designed floor plans. HORRIBLE parking!, 15 guest spaces for the entire development. Its like the tow company paid kick backs to the Complex owners.

Woodway at Trinity Centre , Centreville- Old apartments. ANTS ,bugs, rats. Shitty appliances.Management only spoke to you if your rent was late. Many apartments were over crowed, But plenty of parking.

Thank god I own a house now. Now I just have to put up with the HOA.

Layton Hall Apartments in Fairfax. We identified 7 different varieties of roaches. The greasy smell from the illegals downstairs permeated the air and even if you bombed the place for bugs, they would only move up or downstairs for a few days and then come right back. It should be condemned.

Wow are you a brat! If this is what you consider a bad apartment community you are sadly mistaken. Good God!

What's that place like now? I lived there for a couple of years in the mid 70s; it was just a slightly lower-rent garden apartment complex. Nothing particularly dicey about it back then. Walls were thin, but it was perfectly safe and all.

Some of them like Kingsley Gardens is basically public housing, the county either owns or pays the rent for a lot of the tenents.

fairmmont gardens is very similar to culmore because their is a large population of hispanics drinking beer sniffing cocaine and pissing in the stairways and laundry rooms. also late at night they break in to cars and rob people.

I doubt that most of those people could afford cocaine. There are always police around culmore, I doubt that break-ins are that big of a problem.

well then you obviously dont know shit about either of the 2 areas

The main thing I know about Culmore (which is where my childhood church is, and I now live down the road in Skyline) is that the 7-11 there always has a huge number of illegal immigrants hanging out. Our of morbid curiosity I tried to count them when driving by the other day, but I lost count around 30 people.

Also, there seems to almost always be a cop car patrolling them.

That complex is going to be razed once the revitalization of Springfield Plaza finally starts. I found this out after looking at the blueprints online.

I really don't see how day laborers could afford quantites of cocaine for personal use as you claim. Also if there was an ongoing chronic problem with break ins and muggings then Fairfax PD would do something about it. I believe the urinating problem. I think you are making sterotypes that verge on racist.

which part of my explanation of the situation in either of these 2 shit whole communities "bordered on racist" ? Also if you read what I wrote I said large population of hispanics drinking beer sniffing cocaine and pissing in hallways and laundromats. I did not say that any of them were employed as day laborers. Are you trying to imply that everyone who lives in these 2 areas is a day laborer?

If you personally know some hispanics who do these things then I can't argue with you. But I am guessing you have observed people doing these things, a lot of what people see are the day laborers standing around and make generalizations of all latinos. Culmore has a lot of day laborers. My whole point is that you have seen some bad behavior from a few people and are using that to make sweeping generalizations, dangerous territory.

I lived in Bent Tree Apartments in Centreville for 8 months and HATED it. There were bugs everywhere and maintenance never came to fix the ACIENT appliances. Our building got new ones after we moved, but they told us we would have new ones when we moved in. Lots of car breakins too..

Fairmont Gardens, Vista Gardens and Kingsley Commons are barrio dumps, there are large numbers of the units that are public housing, occupancy regulations are ignored in all three. If you like sporadic gang graffiti and urine soaked brick, look no further.

KIngsley Commons used to be called Jefferson Village in the 80's (and it sucked then too) went through a big revitalization project, a renaming and still looks like butt. I lived in a plce in Arlington called Lee Gardens that was a Jefferson Village clone and went through a similar rehab (renamed Sheffield Court), the changes stuck and helped in Arlington, I don't know what went worng with Kingsley Commons.

Oh god, I hope this is true. I hate that apartment complex so much. They also have their own police office in one of the apartment buildings. To bad the cops never do shit with the jay walking and crime there.
