New to Springfield, any good bars around the area?

Hey everyone,

I'm new to Springfield...I moved here for work.

I'm a younger dude (24) and I want to know if there are any good bars or lounges around that people frequent... maybe to watch the game or whatever.. so I can get out there and meet people. The bar scene was my scene back home... but I don't want to wind up in some weird spot where everyone is 50 and divorced.

Well thats Springfield for you. There are a couple places but it's mostly 50 year old single mothers and the younger (ok mid thirties, still old) girls employed there who sadly tend to be addicts and there are even a few prostitutes. I'll let you guess the bartender that's both, although the meth face/jaw gives it away a little.

I'd travel to arlington or elsewhere for a younger crew with fewer infectious diseases.

Not sure how far you are from Old Town Alexandria, but you had better try there, because all you will find in Springfield is 50 and divorced.

You didn't fuck up it's not so bad as long as you're willing to travel a few minutes for good company.

Old town is good advice, so is Clarendon. I'd stay away from any place in Springfield plaza.

The first six posts on this thread were all from the same IP address. Why do people talk to themselves like that?

Nope, two replies are mine. You fail.

Try Kilroy's in Ravensworth shopping center (braddock rd/beltway).

It's a blue-collare sports bar. A little divey, but a lot of fun. I'm sure there will be haters on here, but judge for yourself.

Good thing about Springfield is you're ten minutes at most away from everything.

Go to Adams Morgan in D.C. or see if you like some bars in Georgetown. Old town also has some nice bars. Old town is about two exits over on 495, D.C. is 10 minutes up 395.

K street in D.C. has some bars too. Springfield doesn't have the most happening places. Although when they open up Dave and Busters at the mall I expect that to be very busy and entertaining.

Don't go to Kilroys, that is the ideal 50 and divorced bar.

Once D&B opens up, that should be good.

Fast Eddies or Hard Times can be fun if you HAVE to stay local...otherwise old town Alexandria or Arlington...DC has a few different places. Just read yelp reviews.

Before you go traveling about drinking and fucking, be advised cops around here are ravenous for DUI busts. Big money for the state.

Oh and watch out for trannys too, some of them are pretty convincing.

Our own Gerrymanderer2 owns a bar in Springfield called the Poop Chute. I think it might be a fag bar though.

Reading this shit makes me so glad that I outgrew the bar scene.

What a waste of time and money!

+1

Which is why it's just cheaper to live closer in.

Uber gets super expensive really quickly.

I suggest you move on somewhere else. The bars in DC and NOVA are full of douchebags and ugly women.
Read this and weep.
