Back in the area again. Wondering if there were any good places to listen to good bands without going into DC? Went to Jammin Java, but a bit too teeni-bopper for me being 35.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Ice House Cafe on Fridays and Saturdays. Jazz, Blues, Indie Lo-Fi, etc. Place is in Herndon.

Epicure has live music and a pretty diverse clientele (ranging from college students to 50-somethings I'd say). It's more of a hole in the wall so you'd feel okay hanging out there with no teeny boppers. (Source: I'm 35.) The music is hit or miss. It's more of a local vibe (solo artists, jazz, etc.) so you won't get names that go to Jammin' Java.
