I have to go to the DMV (Westfield) to get my my driver's license renewed. Since it is out of state from my college days, how long can I expect to be in the that 1st circle of hell? Or, has the internet changed it all?

You'll be there forever if you don't have the right paperwork. Your out-of-state license by itself isn't enough.

Well, I got it renewed. It only took 2 hours and 50 minutes, granted the actual renewal process only took 15 minutes.

^ For what it's worth, that's one of the better DMVs in the area. At least they're friendly and the waits are long but not interminable.

One thing I've never understood - why does everyone at the DMV look like an illegal alien? The waits could be cut down considerably if these people understood the process and brought the right paperwork.

Just go in with no paperwork and pretend not to speak English. They'll have you done in less than five minutes. And throw in citizenship if you need that too.
