Would you trade Bryce Harper

He appears to have shit for brains, he is frequently injured, he cannot hit left-handers, and he is represented by Scott Boras. Other than that, he is great.

It starting to look like he should have stayed in the minors at least an extra year.

Having just seen Full Metal Jacket last night I'd say he needs a blanket party. Didn't run to first on that bunt, then gets thrown out twice being too aggressive. Someone needs to literally knock some sense into that kid.

Would you trade Bryce Harper for what? What are the options? That's really the problem with a trade. Trade him for prospects? He's a better prospect than anything you'd get in return.

Hopefully he gives the Nats a few good years before his big payday next contract.

And he IS going to get paid.

I think you have to keep him and ride it out.

Yes. Trade him down to the Syracuse Chiefs for a player who is more prepared to play like a professional.

Steven Souza has earned his chance. He's ready. Call him up.

Harper is hitting .341 against lefties. Scott Boras is an agent. He does agent pretty well, which is why dozens of MLB players have retained him, Werth, Rendon, Soriano, and Espinoza included in addition to Harper and Strasburg.

Arbitration in 2016, 2017, 2018. Free agent for the 2019 season if a deal doesn't get done first.

I'd agree. You can't be sure of getting fair value for Harper because no one can tell what his future value is going to be. And of course, the fans and press just adore him, so you'd make a lot of enemies if you sent him packing.

It's a small sample, and BA is not the most meaningful stat nor is it the most important. They also sit him against tough left-handers.

In Williams’s view, Harper has not seen left-handed pitchers well recently. Harper is actually 14 for 39 (.359) with four extra-base hits against left-handed pitchers this season. But Williams said Harper lately has been chasing pitches low and out of the strike zone from lefties.

But they won't send him down because Boras will object.
