Did they have In School Suspension (ISS) back when you were in school?

If you don't know what ISS is, it's a type of punishment wherein a child is kept in school instead of being suspended from school. The child receives his instructions from his teachers and is kept in a room until the school day is up.

What say you?

No. That was called detention. Suspension meant you were out of there for the duration.

I suppose that they finally realized that suspensions weren't really a very feared punishment for kids who didn't want to be there to begin with. In-school would be far worse. Although we probably would have just said fuck that too. lol
