The Multiplex Cinema Merrifield closed for the construction. I noticed the fire department had some people out there looking over the building and going over stuff. Any one know if there are any plans to have a drill there or anything? That would be tight. If not when will they wreck it?

What construction? I was just there watching a movie a few weeks ago.

That place was a dump anyways. They should put the old drive in back in there.

They are opening a Town Center Type place there.

I ate at Four Sisters this weekend which is adjacent. Best lunch I've had in a while. That little bakery next door is real nice too.

With the road "construction" (at least doing the utility work until funding is found) and the new construction in Merrifeld there are now places to "GO" in Merrifield (oh do we really miss the Taco Bell?) -- Velocity - major improvement - Vantage and the food choices there (all of which are good) -- It's not just a post office anymore!

I miss the Taco Bell.

I think they're gonna rebuild the theatre. I read in the Fairfax extra that they got a permit for a new theatre there.

Yes it's part of the contract between the theater and the developer. They wreck the current one and build them a new one in the different spot on the same land.

Finally! I've been hearing that place was "closing soon" for years now, it really was such a dump.. but I do have lots of memories from there. Sucks that Taco Bell's gone, that was amazing. Velocity 5 is waay overpriced, they had good deals when they first opened but its gotten worse since then. AND the server didn't even wish me a happy birthday when I went in for my actual 21st bday, so f- that place. I hope the new stuff they plan on putting in will be worth it.

I liked the Old Drive in at Merrifield. I remember Many Moons ago going there.
Thats the kind of enjoyment I like. We need a Drive in Movie Theatre again.
