I heard that there are no charges pending and that the police are treating this like a suicide.

types. It was never a hidden refuge for little people from the ubiquitous bigots
of Vienna. In reality, it was some old guy who made "toy" houses on his property,
I guess for kicks or kids. Then it became some kind of an artist's village. That's

toy houses were flattened for a giant McMansion community that now looks about as
quiet and vacant as Midgetville. Still, no little people (i.e. kids).

The "Midgetville" in Vienna, Virginia, visible from the W&OD Trail, was a collection of six small cottages that were torn down in 2008. back in 2005 (was in high school at the time) we were looking for a place to drink on the weekends. One of my friends lives in downtown vienna and suggested we try and find this "midgetville". so we turn off of Cedar onto Wedderburn and notice a dirt road that is very narrow next to some mailboxes (full of mail) and signs that say no trespassing. my friend started to drive down the narrow road (more like a dirt path) while overgrown branches dragged along the side of his jeep. it was about 930pm and it was foggy and creepy as shit. very small houses with their front doors 3 or 4 feet away lined the road. we passed maybe 3 or 4 houses. at the end of the road there was a short chain link gate that spanned the width of the dirt road, and you couldn't see much behind it.

as my friend opened the passenger door to go open the gate, a short figure emerged from the wooded area on the other side of the gate, holding what looked to be a shovel or garden hoe above his head. He was wearing a blue bandana around his neck and had denim overalls on. He started screaming "get the fuck out of here, get off this property, NO TRESPASSING!" in repetition, over and over again. I won't say he was an actual midget but he was definitely very short. he maybe came within 10 feet of the jeep, and was about 50% illuminated from the headlights. the friend driving barely waited for the other friend who had jumped out of the truck to slam it into reverse and back out maybe 150 yards, since there was no way to turn around. i don't really believe that it was a place only for midgets but there was definitely something shady about that whole area. I had my share of dealing with that place and never went back
