I think the tag readers are a good idea to seek and identify stolen license plates and wanted criminals. The officer is immediately alerted and can take action. However, I do not agree that the information should be stored in any system past a short few hour time period. The system can easily dump the stored information. Now, lets make it a law.

they should go after the people that stold free or gov projects for OCR and claimed they developed a license plate reader

they didn't make a license plate reader. they used old technology.

and as far as i know fx. co. has used it quite a while and in some places it's been done since sometime in the 1990's

they keep buying the made in china cameras like there's no reason to buy american as often or ever

texas owns the patent on the CCD and does make (most) though

as if the chinese care they will do what they can get away with
