Any recommendation for a welding/fabrication shop? Or someone with skill and tools interested in a side job?
I'm looking to get a safari style roof rack and some other things made for an old truck.

some scam artist had me make a rack. later the rack was broken and he was suing me but i thought the break was not due to welding

What year is your truck? And what brand does your truck have? I just recently moved to a new city and need a job. In general, I am looking for a permanent job, but for now I will be satisfied with a temporary option. I think I could handle the request. I can tell you a little about myself. I graduated from Los Angeles pierce college CA (you can look here and learn more about this educational institution). I worked on the ship as a welder for about 4 years. Therefore, I have a good work experience in this field.

If you weld yourself, make sure the metal isn't galvanized. It releases a zinc gas when welded.

Not sure if he does roof racks and stuff. I had some exhaust work done and he seemed pretty good.

I can only appreciate the things you are planning to do and wish you good luck! I think we all understand here that working with metals and welding in particular is a very fun activity, yet a difficult one. From my own experience I can say that you have to be insistent and careful at the same time! Remember my first masterpiece. My young brother had broken his bicycle, guess who’d repaired it? Yup, me! I had read some good information on a site or forum, don’t remember exactly what it was, best miller welder I guess. Here I’ve also understood the importance of a good welder. Anyway, if you want to improve your skills or just keep in shape, this is the best for you!

This guy is getting paid by Amazon to post links here. Read the bottom of that page. It says Amazon affiliates program.

You know, there are several interesting offers on major platforms like amazon and ebay but the quality of their products are not that high. I also have an old truck and it always needs a good repair.Honestly, I like to mess around with it because it gives me some necessary experience in repairing things. Recently I've got some toggle clamps for sangfield engineering and they made my work much easier. You should try to find the things you need there.

What about welder equipment? It seems to me that this is an equally important point that is definitely worth thinking about.

It's good that you said that. For some reason, I often notice that in the threads that are dedicated to construction and welding, they don't say anything about safety. I read about different types of gear at https://wisewelders.com/educational-guides/welding-safety-gear/ and I think this is really very important. If you're a welder, then read this article to ensure your safety level.

When it comes to choosing a good welding machine, then I strongly advise you to consider buying a tig welder ac/dc https://bilba.com.au/products/unimig-razorweld-200-ac-dc-tig-welder because it is the best solution for both professionals and amateurs. You can go to the site, study the characteristics of the welding machine and even think about buying on credit. In any case, this welding machine will be able to serve you for many years.

rays welding 703 960 1571. best and most affordable I have seen in my decades of work. has custom built barbeque shelve grates for apartment grills that remain outside, all year, along with safety rails for multi story balcony's. not corrosive pot metal, solid weight bearing steel.
