I'd always wondered how this family afforded their lifestyle - A huge house in a fancy community, vacation home on the river, fancy boat, multiple cars, toys etc. I figured they either had $$ from parents/inheritance or that they were genius investors. Don't see how officer berling could be on any serious take seeing as he works in the schools. And a home daycare can only bring in so much. It just didn't add up.

But i'm pretty sure this whole thing will kill their daycare business. Who'd send their kid into that hornet's nest?

Sad story. This thread full is of misconceptions, however. The home is in Pleasant Valley - a less fancy subdivision nestled within VA Run. And yes, you can make a very decent living as a licensed home child care provider. Do the math. $800 per month X 8 children = $6400 per month before taxes, = $76,800. With regard to the infant who died, the death was confirmed as SIDS and was covered in the paper.

There is no link about the infant that died in this home daycare. All articles about it have been removed. This family is good about burying their dirty little secrets.

I wouldn't be sending my kids to this fucked up family's home for daycare, that's for sure!

Bullshit, none of the papers in this area would ever bury a story like that.

It definitely happened. A kid died in their house and it was labeled a SIDS death. I don't think there's any kind of cover up. Just cuz you can't find a news story doesn't mean it didn't happen or that it was covered up.

Whether a kid died on their watch or not they have loaded weapons in their house that their own adult baby Huey son shot off while he was unsupervised at the age of 27 and clearly Mr. Burling does not feel it is important to lock up his guns or his keys to his police car. Isn't that enough for any sane person to not want to keep their children in this home?

Also he is a known shittalker who uses his daddy to keep him safe. Brandon is the middle child who snitched on his roommate at radford and got him caught up for pot. And we cant forget the dyke sister Brianna.. Lets just call her brian

Remember the guy who shot the 2 police officers at Sully Station. Cops charged the father with allowing the son to have access to firearms in his house when he knew he was doing drugs. Dad had to check a block on the federal form relating to drugs when you purchase a firearm. The father did time for this.

So why aren't charges going against Officer Berling and the Chief automatically says there is no investigation. No way Officer Berling doesn't know that his 27 year old kid, who is still living at home, is not doing drugs. He had to know. Kid Berling did have access to firearms because media and the police charged him with shooting the guns. So were the guns Dad's or the son's? If they were Dad's, then Officer Berling should be criminally charged under Federal law just like the father of the Sully shooter was.

Wait....double standards are being applied once again. People need to speak up about this.

I don't know about the rest of the family but Officer Berling always used to harass me and my friends -like he was trying to be a super cop but just playing it safe by concentrating on teenagers smoking erb instead of real criminals, he used to be a hard ass DC cop but I guess decided to transfer to be Super Safe Cop. Once I even tried to help him out and got no thanks, just more harassment in return. A friend of his even asked him for a favor privately and he involved the whole department. Great guy! Sounds like he should have spent more time with his kids, treated them better and loved them a little more instead of being a terrible person. I feel sorry for his kids, and yes, Karma is a Mother Fucker.

Watcher, it sounds like it's going to trial. the possession charge is a misd., so it will probably be indicted at the next grand jury, I think that's in September. But you're right, the only way to get info on what goes on in Circuit Court is to look at there, they aren't online unless you want pay something like $50 per month to have access to it.

The boy's case comes up for prelim in early August. He listed as Puebla Berling, not just Berling in the online thing (but I see you knew that already.)

Did you mean to say that he was a kind, gentle man because he could not handle the regular duties of a patrol officer or detective? That is why he got into the non-confrontational and cushy job as a School Resource Officer. Yep. That is what you meant to say.

Wont be back to VA for fear of facing misdemeanor charges?

No. Not at all. Officer Berling actually helped my mother by paying for her car that was broken down. He arranged a tow and repairs because she could not afford them at the time. My mom is a single mother, raising my brother and I on one income. He did this because he is compassionate. I'm not sure what your deal is? Hang I'm there Officer B.

And why is it that he could not control his own son. Too compassionate and non-confrontational. Basically, a sissy? That is why his own son did drugs, stole his police car, stole his firearm, and got into this trouble.........and forced him to resign (not retire) from FCPD.

You never answered the question? What is your deal? You sound like an angry person. Maybe you ended up on the wrong side of Officer B's compassion. Probably some gangsta who he locked up. Oh well guess even you are welcome to your opinions.

Ok. Now I understand. You are socially inept. I see why you can't carry on an intelligent conversation. Good luck in the future. You will need it.

BS. How old are you kid? Old enough to know that he must have been sleeping with your mommy. Cops do not do that for free. He was getting some. So how much of a wildcat is she.

Ask Grandma Berling (Beuchner) why this family is so messed up. Ask her what decision SHE made when her children came to her for help. She chose the devil over her own.

$200k dries up quick these days especially when you have an offense on your record that makes it hard for you to get a decent paying job. $200 million and all worries are out the door. Assuming this is true, of course...

$200k after all the taxes is about $80k cash. That's nice, but won't go far, especially if the winner is stupid with his money.

Where is the Wildcat pictures? Looks like Officer Berling lost his job and his wife lost her daycare. Not bad for a day's outing by the son.

His next court date is October 21. He's up on three charges: unauthorized use of a vehicle, reckless handling of a firearm, and impersonating a LEO. The first charge is a Class 6 Felony, while the other two are Class 1 Misdemeanors.

As I said in an earlier post, I think Jim Bitner is trying to forge a plea deal that will avoid a felony conviction for young master Berling, and also give him as little jail time as possible, because being a cop's son in the can is roughly equivalent to having "please kick my ass" tattooed on your forehead.

Must be nice being a cop's son.

probation not to exceed 3 years

I relish your snide remarks now, but expect an apology tomorrow.

+1 and the felony charge will either be dropped or reduced to a misdemeanor
