I went to the CdM celebration at Tia's in Fair Lakes last year and it was truly awful. Parked at the Silver Diner with the risk of being towed, waited 45 minutes in line, payed to "get in", waited 30 minutes for overpriced shitty beer and gave up trying to get another beer.
Instead I went to TGIFridays where they had their usual great happy hour specials and ended the night happy. Avoid Tia's.
Way to celebrate a holiday about a country no one gives a shit about except when the beaners come over the border to work at Mickey D's.
Take that Sombrero and cheap ass Corona and shove it.

I like Mexican food from time to time but I've never been a big fan of tequila or Mexican beer. That said, I think it should be a local holiday so I can have the day off.

I vote for the holiday, if we get the day off.

I am optimistic that Fairfax will hold a parade.

I don't think Fairfax will hold a parade this year. Too expensive.

Still, they should find a way to hold it. Who knows, if managed properly, it could be a moneymaker.

The parade has already started and will be here on time.
Thats actualy true. The citizens of Fairfax could turn the cinco de mayo celebration into a for profit venture.

I always go out for Mexican food on St. Patrick's Day and Irish food on Cinco de Mayo. Seems to be effective for avoiding insane crowds.

What is the history of this day? I think it is just another mis-guided history lesson so that people can go out and get drunk, like St. pattys day.

Cinco is a Mexican holiday. I'm not a Mexican and wouldn't want to be.
The Hell with Mexico. The Hell with Cinco de mayo. Only liberal Communists
would celebrate it here.
