Bomb threat closes GMU Prince William campus

The Prince William campus of George Mason University was on lockdown for more than four hours Thursday after a bomb threat was made to the Governor's School @ Innovation Park.
The threat was reported after 8 a.m., prompting evacuations and closure of the campus, the Governor's school and the Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center.
Prince William school officials allowed parents to pick up students from the Freedom Center. Students who drove to school were not allowed to take their cars from the parking lot.
Shortly after noon, police gave the all-clear. No evidence of a bomb was found.
"George Mason University Police are working with local law enforcement and are seeking information about the individual(s) who made this threat," campus police said in an alert sent to students.
The threat follows a similar scare at Godwin Middle School in Dale City on Wednesday. Students were evacuated after a written threat of an explosion was found. The school was evacuated until police searched and found nothing.
