The Italian Store in Arlington is okay for a sub, but is there an
actual Italian grocery worth noting around here anywhere?
Does the metro area have a Littly Italy neighborhood like New York or Boston?

You have to go to Bmore for Little Italy. DC does have a Chinatown, but it is disappearing due to regentrification.

Check out "A Deli" in Worldgate (Herndon). An entire corner is full of imported items.

It's a bit ghetto, but there are 2 a-deli's in manassas and they both carry a lot of imported italian foods. also, there is an italian restaurant in centreville next to glory days, they have a store inside as well.

speaking as a true italian, the only store in the area remotely similar to anything in italy is the italian store in arlington unfortunately.

I cant remember the name of it but, its next to Glory Days in Centreville. They have a nice little selection of Italian items.
