Today's 12z Euro is showing 10-12" midweek. This particular model has been pretty accurate so far this winter, especially in the last few weeks.

Euro & GFS are widely divergent -could miss DC entirely, give us a foot of snow or an inch of rain. Nothing definitive will come until late Monday when all the models come into agreement. February is the month of big snows for DC but time is running out.

There's something to what the Euro model says. We are probably at a 50/50 chance of at least 6 inches or more right now. The U.S. model predicts significant snow fall too.

My rule of thumb to predict snow storm volumes is to divide the predicted amount of inches by the level of media hype.
Predictions: 4-8 inches.
Media hype level: 7 (but trending upwards)
Probable snow fall: 0.57 to 1.14 inches.
