From the Feb 7 "The Bottom Line" (FCPS Budget Newsletter):

"In its passage of the FY 2015 Advertised Budget, the Board passed a motion to have Superintendent Karen K. Garza identify savings from transportation route efficiencies during the annual bus route review and earmark these funds to offset costs related to an implementation of later high school start times."

Two points:

1) SLEEP promised later high school start times would save money, so why does money need to be set aside for implementation?

2) FCPS is supposedly so desperate for more money due to budget shortfalls that it's going to lay off teachers, so why are potential savings be spent on unnecessary later start times?

If the School Board had any balls, it would straight out ask the parents: do you want teachers or later start times?

Also FCPS has bathroom that you have to press the faucet to use waer that is very unsanitary in many ways and should also be delt with if they want to use if and not get very student and parent sick in fairfax.
