Could legalizing marijuana help the Washington Redskins football team?

After noticing that the two teams that made it to the Super Bowl this year were from states where marijuana is legal, Virginia lawmakers joked last week that maybe the Redskins' chances might improve if they too legalized marijuana, Washington's CBS Local reported.

“If we did that in Virginia, would that fix the Redskins’ problems?” joked Senate Democratic Leader Dick Saslaw (D-35th) of Fairfax.

Waiting for the laughter to die down in the chamber, Sen. Frank Wagner (R-7th) gave a sharp reply:

“… I don’t think there’s enough drugs in the world to fix that problem,” he said.

The Washington Redskins 2013 season ended 3-13, and head coach Mike Shanahan was fired.
