Yeah, tell me about it....I just got stuck there. Probably the usual overkill over nothing or next to nothing...

But hey, why in the fuck, if they're going to close a major artery, don't they have cops assigned to help people turn the hell around?

When heading south, they force you to turn left onto Edsall Road. If you don't know the area, you're screwed. Luckily I have a GPS and was able to find my way to Best Buy by getting on 395. Ugh.

People were driving all over the neighborhood trying to figure out how to get around the incident. The neighborhood doesn't go through. People were turning around in driveways, driving slowly, pulling over. It was a mess.

What was the hazardous material?

It was a natural gas leak.

Washington Gas headquarters is only about 3 blocks away, so the response time was mere hours instead of days!
