Frank Wolf NOT Seeking Re-election

It's a shame that Frank Wolf isn't running again. I think he's truly one of the genuine nice people in Congress. He works hard for his beliefs.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/12/17/rep-frank-wolf-r-va-wont-seek-reelection/?hpid=z4

He spoke at my HS graduation many years ago and I can still remember that speech.

Hopefully the Republicans don't go crazy and nominate some whackjob that has no chance of winning!

I wonder if the Dems have any potential candidates that haven't been shooting off their mouths about Obamacare?

Time to put another seat in the Dem category. The sweep continues.

I had the pleasure of meeting Frank Wolf back in the early 90's when I was working as a lowly security guard, right out of college. The impression he left on me was that he was super nice and honest. I had the pleasure of running into him again about 15 years later while I was working as a Project Manager on government accounts. Again super nice and friendly. I hope he reconsiders!

I know of a perfect candidate to fill Rep Wolf's shoes, none other than B.A. Wolfe. After getting steamrolled in the coveted Fairfax County Sheriffs race he can easily redeem himself on the national stage with a run for congress.

B.A. Wolfe for Congress!

Speaking of good at gerrymandering districts: State of Maryland overall vote approxmiately 60/40 D/R but ZERO republicans in Congress. The remaining two R's in Maryland got gerrymandered out last election.

Gerry, you are the pathetic piece of shit everyone calls you here. Stick that fact up your lazy ass.

Hardly. The guy is over 70 and has been there for decades. Maybe he'd like to enjoy a bit of retirement before passing on. Unlike you libtards, not everyone needs to make everything about politics for their entire life. The rest of us have real lives.

And don't forget that one of those is court mandated. If the govt weren't interfering with an old law it would be more like 2/11.

I believe he was referring to the election results in our state not Maryland.

Fucking Republicans gloating over gerrymandered districts. You lost the fucking popular votes statewide. You lost the fucking vote. It was a statewide sweep in an off year with the most favorable conditions imaginable for the GOP and you got your asses handed to you.

You're patting yourselves on the back on how well you cheated the electorate.

You should be ashamed of yourselves not proud of it.

Not specific to Virginia, but...

Mia Love will replace Rep. Jim Matheson, D-Utah.

Can't wait for the fireworks from NY Times, Washington Post, MSNBC, Gerry boy, Nancy.... when a successful black women is off the democratic plantation, elected to the House of Representatives as a (R) and is declared more evil than Clarence Thomas, Col West and Dr Ben Carson!

Looks like John Foust, the Fairfax Supervisor, will run as the democratic replacement candidate.

Any chance we will see Pat Herrity run for this one?

Like Hillary says What difference does it make. Vote Republican to feed defense contractors who screw over the taxpayers.

Vote Democrat feed welfare cheats and the too lazy to work.

I know John Foust. He seems ok as far as I can tell, not too partisan. I am a little surprised that he would run.

Wolf is the epitome of worthless career politician. 33 years in the House and not one notable accomplishment besides 3 decades of flip flopping on issues. Mr. Deficit Spending with Reagan and the Bushes suddenly became a quasi-TP'er after 2008. Then he votes for the government shutdown, but then immediately says it was "wrong" and sponsors a bill to pay the feds their backpay.

Spineless, worthless, and now he gets a sweet pension and health benefits after enriching himself at the taxpayer trough for 33 years. People complain about "welfare queens", maybe they should look at these guys.

I don't think so. I think next November will be a bloodbath for the Dems. This Obamacare thing gas to go. And this is a life-long Democratic voter talking here.

Obamacare has pushed me over the edge. I pay through the nose now for health insurance NOW, there's no way I can handle my premiums doubling (or worse) for likely reduced coverage.

We need a veto-proof Republican majority in the Senate to kill this thing. Please republicans, run some non-whackjob candidates that will vow to vote for repeal and you will have my support, along with millions of others that are about to get royally screwed!

The current batch of Republicans are worthless. Boehner and McCain only care about keeping themselves in office to keep those perks rolling. In Virginia Bolling would have easily beat McAwful but they just have to put Cuccinelli in the running.

I usually vote for the democrat but I always voted for Frank (when he had an opponent that is). He used to come to neighborhood events sometimes and meet and greet. As a former fed myself, I felt he was in my corner and wasn't partisan. Plus, he didn't just talk the walk, but actually walked the talk - going on humanitarian trips and giving back to the community. Sad that some partisans on this site are spreading hate for a guy who was always one of the good ones.

Much like your god, Obama, your greatness is overshadowed only by your modesty. Excellent use of grammar and punctuation, by the way.

As far as I know, he never really said he was "wrong" for voting for the government shutdown. He claimed the vote he made was not intended to be for a government shutdown, and shutting down the government was wrong.

Don't forget about his current obsession with the Benghazi crap he hears from Fox News.
