Woman Believed Missing; Blood Found Near Apartment Complex

Fairfax County police said yesterday that they are searching for a 22-year-old woman who was determined to be missing after blood was discovered outside her Herndon apartment complex.

Yancey is described as a black woman, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 125 pounds. She has short dark hair, possibly with blond highlights, and might be wearing a navy blue and gray American Eagle sweat shirt and gray sweat pants. Police ask that anyone with information call 1-866-411-TIPS.

RESTON, Va. - Investigators searching for a missing Herndon woman say they have located her missing vehicle in Reston and discovered a body inside.

An alert patrol officer located Ericka Yancey's vehicle around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, in the 13000 block of Sunrise Valley Drive.

The investigation is now labeled a "suspicious death" investigation. Confirmation of the woman's identity and manner of death are pending an autopsy, scheduled for later Wednesday.
