Not to state the obvious, but $10 for car upkeep? That's like 2 oil changes a year and apparently you don't need new brakes or tires ever. The average car maintenance I believe is on the order of $1500/yr. Same goes for medical, apparently you think that having insurance means there are no other costs. I have very good insurance and I still spend a lot for copays for my family each each.
Finally, $600/yr in house maintenance is unlikely to keep you up to speed over the live of your house. Even doing your own work, painting, repairs, roof work, etc... costs a lot.
Sure we should all have 6 months of income in an emergency fund if we are to lose our job, but facts are that most people do not. And despite some people thinking that this is because people are lazy or live beyond their means, the facts are that most people have had stagnate incomes for decades while prices have gone up.
The Real Word has spoken
