Just wondering whats up with younger people today in fairfax, it seems like the youth in Fairfax all have tats, and lots of people have sleeves. Dont get me wrong I am not against tats, but def see today little rich suburb kids getting pretty stupid tats all over the body. It would seem that they are making them unemployable. Most are stupid tata like little stars or tribal bs. In the 70's, 80's and 90's no one had these type of tats. Today everyone seems to have them.....i think it will be funny in 40 years when ot will be so "30 years ago"

You forget the stretched out ears....the lobes are permanently disfigured.

I'm not against them, either, I just don't hire them or look at them in public. Same for the ones with the grommets in their lobes or hardware sticking out of their faces or all over their ears. That stuff is distracting, painful looking and I don't want to look at it every time I see them at work and then feel nauseous.

Sleeves and neck tats are probably the most regrettable things you could get--unless you don't want to work, run your own business or work for someone else who happens to have tats, too.

The tattooing is probably more widespread than you think. All of mine are covered up easily by a polo and long pants, and more than easily by normal business attire. No one I've ever worked with has ever suspected I'm inked.

No, I see it all at the beach. I know how much is out there. If it's easily covered up, then good thinking.

True!

College kids want what is now deemed different. Virgin skin.

I love it!

Stick with what you were born with.

Tattooed skin makes people look like reptiles, IMO. I suspect that in a few years, a lucrative business will be tattoo removal.

Right now there are three options:

1) A green square (representing turf)

2) A burning book

3) A little trolley car

Reputable tattoo artists, doing any of these, will make contributions to the re-election campaigns of Sharon Bulova, Tammy Kaufax and Ryan McElveen.

It already is a lucrative business, get into it before the doctors, lawyers, etc. decide it needs to be heavily regulated.

It is heavily regulated in Virginia, and it worked the opposite of how you think. First, dermatologists were the only ones that could remove tattoos, then registered nurses could do it, and now anybody that is licensed to be a laser technician can do it. Those machines are expensive though, like $100k each.
