I kinda agree with the OP, I am from Melbourne, australia. Not being too much succumbed to pessimism, after 7 pm, fairfax becomes a haunted town, my previous place was more alive. But I am now getting used to it anyway, not a big deal.

I was born and raised here and lived here for 30 years. all of my friends and family live here.

it used to be a nice place back in the early to mid 90s but now it's an overpriced cesspool. Yet every time i try to leave i get sucked back into this black hole of traffic, morons, minorities, liberals, and overpriced corporate misery.

I'm sure I'll die here.

And soon if I'm lucky.
