Extra units called in to block Fairfax Parkway just in case traffic starts to move?

WTOP is reporting this as a brushfire... Not sure why. There is a huge fire department response.
I was stuck in the traffic jam heading south on Waples Mill towards shirley gate. Retards are tring to turn onto 29 north where only 1 lane is getting by, preventing me from driving straight.
