YES! The way she pronounces English in fine, But when she pronounces a Spanish word she makes sure that she changes her accent. Even when she signs off she makes sure to pronounce her name as Erica HONzalez. Do you ever here an Irish or Scottish reporter change their intonation or pronunciation when they pronounce an English word?

She changes it so she can pronounce the spanish name in the proper tone dumbass. There were people who were at a point claiming Obama couldnt say Pakistan correctly, when actually he was pronouncing it in the correct tone. That's the best way I can explain it if your a white dude named, John, Bob, Billy, Nathan, Mike, Steve, Tom, Chris, etc.

Get used to it. You'll just see more and more of this shit. I was on Espn recently and they had all those marks above the letters in spanish names. I don't recall them doing that 10 or so years ago. But I'm living in the past. "La tierra es nuestra."

You remember something like over 10 years ago there used to be a reporter on News Channel 8 named Iris Argueta. She was their diversity.

Anyhow, any story she had in a normal, non-Hispanic neighorhood dealing with whatever issues she had zero accent.

But anytime she was doing something from Mt. Peasant or Bailey's or any of those "Spanish" areas, her accent was thick and she would sing off as Iris Arguttttta with emphasis on Ar and ta in her name.

Now she's works in MoCo and was on the Obama 2012 Migrantes outreach team, figures.

I've never seen a tv news reader who puts more expression into every word she's reading than this gonzalez character. Brickman over at channel 9 is bad but Gonzalez is by far the worst in d.c. tv market. Her face has got to be tired after a day's work.

British announcers (and brits in general) make a point of pronouncing foreign words in as british a way as possible. Eg. 'filet' (as in filet mignon) is always pronounced 'fill-it' rather than 'fill-a'. It's pretty amusing.

Channel 4 has made a big deal lately about hiring people with ties to this area for their on-air talent. Gonzalez, from TX, seems to be an exception. Maybe they should try again.
