Alas, all of the hotties leaving. A shame, but then again, Brooke Baldwin is a former WTTG Fox 5 reporter if I remember correctly, along with Amy Robach being a local product for awhile. We gotta keep the smoking babes.

Wow. First, Cynne is bi-racial, so all of that venom about her "weave" is actually incorrect. Second, to that "whitest black woman" comment, really? Would she be more down if she sounded like the lady on the Pine Sol commercial?!!!

These comments are SAD. While Cynee was decent, this news market has pretty much been ruined by empty headed "babes" who are more committed to their own notoriety than the idea of the value of having any experience. Panel Briwn came to DC straight out of college because her parents are friends with th Albrittons. While there is nothing wrong with friendship helping you out , she didn't have enough sense to ask them to place her at the Allbrittons Birmingham, AL station for 6 months or so, so that she could at least appear to be halfway credible. She got here and news managers had to write her stories for her to help train her. That just should not happen in Washington, DC. You should come here correct. No one on the earth would get that kind of hand holding except that spoiled girl. Now that they let her "get seasoned" in a top 10 market, she pranced off to CNN. Really? You telling me when some stuff really goes down, that's the "journalist" you want to be relying on to report the news to you? As for Cynee, I think she had 1 other job before coming to DC, but other than being Donnie Simpson's niece, did she really have any appreciable impact on this market? Heck no. Oh wait, she was eye candy too. You guys are sad!!!

I was searching to see where Cynne will anchor next and I came across this comment. My response: We say things change; yes material things change but people not so much. When we are blessed to get an education to support ourselves and others peolpe ridicule "us" for using that education. Some how using that education means we have choose it or our blackness. I experienced this in the '80s. This what our young black sons face every day and comments like Cynne's hair vs. weave brings no value to tbe community and we wonder why our young people are mentally confused and suck on how they dress verses to what they can accomplish. We all are in the system but do want to be at the top or the bottom???
I will miss Cynne Simpson very much. I thought that she was like a breath of fresh air to the DC area. It is not fair to pull her down. She is a very bright and hard working young lady. Let us not have envy for this young lady, but be very proud. As for the racial comments, they are way out of line for her.
Everyone deserves to keep climbing the ladder to do better.

it is unfortunate that people automatically assume that every black woman with long hair has a weave. YOU ARE WRONG. I, as well as most family members going back to my great-grandmother have long hair and I'm 50 yrs old. Grow up and stop showing your ignorance. And so what if she did have a weave? Waht does it have to do with her ability to deliver the news? You people are so shallow. If any woman is attactive, automatically the haters, men and women come out. She's educated, well traveled and attractive and does a good job. Grow up people!

Agreed on that end, but damn she was some kind of hot to at least enjoy the news with.

i promise you people it is not that serious!!!
This is what happens when black folks are talented and climb the ladder quickly, The hate and envy comes out and we as people of color put each other down. Cynne is talented and beautiful so let's wish her the best and encourage her to continue to advance. You go girl!!!!! ATL you stole a good one congratulation dirty south.

well in atlanta you have to be black to be on tv - you cant have an all white anchor team - its reverse racism.
seen clips of cynne on air and looks like shes improved a lot since her robotic days at wgcl atlanta,...
But this is TV and you have to be pretty to be a female anchor. Its probably a raise being the evening anchor and she goes to a city just as black as DC where she can be a 'star' esp with her family ties - and will be in high demand in ATL (black) society.
She probably is hoping she can move up to the network. She seemed to be so excited to be on Anderson; Im sure she'd squeal to be on a panel show like The View, The Real, The Talk, or a morning show like GMA or Today (and it seems she does now ahve that bubbly morning show thing going) - Ill have to tune into Fox5 tonight; I dont watch much local TV news anymore - especially the stations here with 6-8 hours of news...theres not much going on and yes we can see its cloudy and yes, atlanta is going to have mad traffic every day
She couldnt get a job as a Fox anchor esp not on the morning show cuz you have to be white and blonde (yes I know Fox has some token blacks but its basically blonde women with great legs who show them that get the gigs) That what the old white men who watch want. Then look at MSNBC where they have a lot more darker skinned people - not to mention Asian, openly gay (Sorry Shep Smith you still dont count until you make it official)
