I was wondering what some interesting/weird places to go in the area are? Like..strange landmarks..or haunted or creepy places. Anything really similar to filmdex in its creepiness. I heard something about Chantilly Country Club Dam being haunted?

Great Falls park especially after a lot of rain. I'm glad they fixed it so people no longer fall in from going to near the unfenced edge and falling in.

In the area.... If you consider a a couple of hours driving to be in the area....then two of the weirdest places in the US are very close:

Church Hill Tunnel in Richmond - full sized locomotive buried in a tunnel with several people along with it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_Hill_Tunnel

Crash Site of Piedmont Airlines Flight 349 - Crozet,VA...crashed in 1959. Left the airplane crash debris on the mountain. It's still there. I think this is the only airliner crash were no attempt was made to recover the wreckage. The site would be a hike up Bucks Elbow mountain http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piedmont_Airlines_Flight_349

There's a lotta old abandoned houses and remnants of old farms which all got shut down in the 60s following the construction of Dulles.

In fact, there was a whole town where dulles is today. There's not much trace of it, besides a few wells and basements and foundations still left in the woods behind the "government property" fences which border off the immense jungles within the airport property itself.

Chantilly National Country Club dam is haunted? What is the story behind that? And where exactly is the dam? I work at the golf course so I'm curious about that one.

Hi Awakened,

I'm just wondering if you knew of scary fun place to go for Halloween night. We don't drive yet, so, it would have to be within walking or biking distance of the Pendarbrooke area. Or near Fair Oaks Mall. Thanks alot.

Everyone knows about the bunnyman bridge but we're afraid of the cops and getting run over at nighttime. Our friends who have been there say its not all that anyways. LOLZ

yea what is the deal with Filmdex, i went there a couple years ago with friends jumped a fence in the back and there's all these empty trucks packed with unraveled film then we went to the seemingly abandoned main building looked inside the windows and saw all these boxes and shit looked like no one has been in there for a while... but then we see some music player and we heard it playing black metal very loud so we diped after seeing that who knows what goes on in there
