So I thought the year decal on Virginia Cars (likely seeing a mix of 13, 14, and 15) were always the same color. In particular I've seen nothing but the color red for the 2014 ('14') stickers. Today in Reston I noted a purple '14' sticker on the license plate.

Any idea on why there would be a purple sticker? Any insight? I've never noted any other colors recently for any year. Always seems to be the same on all tags.

Either it's a dealer tag, or the car is registered to a car rental agency.

Definitely not a rental.. although someone could have an interesting deal with them. It had tinted windows and after market rims. Appears to be someone's daily driver and wasn't attached with a magnet or have any "Dealer" or "I.D." markings on it. Interesting to know though.. I'll keep an eye out for that.

It was either: Dealer (with a D or ID), Drive-away (with DA), of Manufacturers plate. Rentals registered in VA have orange stickers regardless of the year
