Didn't know they were trying to address this intersection...thanks for the post.

As far as solutions, it would be nice to somehow block access out to South Riding. The back-ups got much worse with the expansion of the community out there.

Knowing they can't really do that, I'd prefer a stoplight. We'd be asking too much of NoVa drivers to learn how to drive in a roundabout...

My thoughts were:

a) the 3 roundabouts installed the last few years on Route 50 work well. People learned how to use them.

b) roundabouts would be much preferred during non-rush hour - most of the time there is no traffic and having to stop for a light would be an unnecessary annoyance.

Although the intersection is in Fairfax, it seems the cost of the roundabout is being borne by Loudoun County!
