FAIRFAX, Va. - Three students at West Springfield High School have been arrested and accused of running a child exploitation ring.
The students are teenage boys, two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old.
The alleged victims are six girls, also teenagers, attending local area high schools.
We have learned the child exploitation ring was first uncovered at West Springfield High School last November. After a one-month investigation, Fairfax County Police arrested three students at the high school on January 11. The charged students are said to be student athletes.
The students allegedly drugged the girls, had sex with them, videotaped the entire episode and then distributed the tapes.
The students are charged with possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation and facilitation of child pornography.
Police can't give a lot of details about what happened because these are all juveniles involved.
Police say all the victims and suspects knew each other. Police don't know if there are more alleged victims.
The investigation is ongoing
