Not defending them in any way, but if they had spoken up the world would have hated them even more as I was disappointed in every facebook/media post that regarded the gun control subject in any way the day of or after. I mean have some sympathy and give it time to heal for a bit and I think it is better for them and opposers that they not say a word right now. Still as someone who works in the school system and who is a gun owner, I really am turned on this subject and there must be a better way to enforce gun ownership laws to keep our nation safer, while also not infringing on a right that our nation was founded on. The safety has to come first though before anything else and actions must be taken in other areas besides gun control to prevent further mishaps. Taking personal responsibility and enforcing moral ethics on others is a good start for all of us.

Guns have and always will be a part of American culture. While the events of this past week have deeply affected us all, none more than the children and their families in CT who are going through beyond a parent's worst nightmare, guns by themselves don't harm anyone. The information is out there on how and why you should keep your lawfully obtained firearms out of the hands of criminals and psychos. Then change the constitution (as I posted). This insanity over the NRA is misguided. They are no better or worse than the ACLU. NRA guards the 2nd Amendment, the ACLU the 1st. When criminals no longer have these type of weapons or the government can GUARANTEE that they can provide 24/7 protection against criminals with these types of weapons, then the case for banning them will be a lot easier. For now, we're all on our own and to have a fighting chance, we need to have access to the same weapons as those who mean to harm us. Ask the Iraqi military how fun it is to be outgunned.

No, you fucking idiot. Please tell me how a law in place would have made that Mother lock up her guns? Of course, locking them up may have delayed this event or even prevented it as a whole. Maybe. However, this lady was an irresponsible gun owner if she had not already locked her guns up in the first place. Are you able to follow along yet? Even with a law, it will not make irresponsible people more responsible. Like I said, your focus is all wrong.

It is not the gun. It is not the NRA. It is not the victim. It is not the laws in place or the lack of laws. It is the irresponsible owner, it is the criminal, it is the lack of defense in place. It is the lack of common sense.

What happened is not new. It has happened many times before. Yet there are no armed personel in the schools. There is only one thing that could have stopped as many deaths from occuring that day. Another person with a gun on site to protect the school. Even that may not prevent these events from happening, but more would have a better chance of surviving the incident. Remember, the only person who stopped the killings was the person doing the killings. He had a lot more ammo, he he wanted to keep going.

Deranged people are going to do what they will, regardless of laws. Irresponsible people are going to continue being irresponsible, regardless of the law. The written law will not change that.

Since you are only fighting for a law to made, you are not contributing anything uselful.

Again, I am not a gun owner. I am an American and I support our rights. That is all. Nothing more, nothing less. People like you always think you are fighting the good fight, but you don't even know what that really is or means for yourselves.
