I don't know how many Hokies roam this board, but I just graduated from VT in the spring and am wondering what you guys think about MV2. In case you live in a cave or don't pay attention to College Football, he got kicked off the team for several legal incidents and stomping the leg of Elvis Dumervil in the Gator Bowl.
Personally, I'm extremely proud of them for getting rid of him. I don't care if it costs us a few wins next year, he needed to go. He's just not worth the trouble, and he's embarassed his brother's good name. The other day on PTI, Michael Wilbon noted a trend in recent years of VT becoming a morally inferior team. I think that's bullshit, but certainly Marcus hasn't helped the cause.
I also don't feel that he's as good as everyone says. He stumbled BAD against Miami in the most personally depressing football game I've ever seen. Then, I watched him, down by a few touchdowns to unranked FSU in the second half of the ACC Championship, being friendly, smiling and slapping helmets and asses of FSU D-linemen when they almost got him. Sad. By his behavior you would've expected the score was the other way around.
In the all-important realm of Office College Football Talk, where several of my co-workers hail from all over the ACC, I've had to pretend to defend him for too long. He's been the skid-mark on VT's skivvies for too long. Good riddance.
he wasnt going to make it to the nfl anyways
so whatever
he made VT look bad

I think Virginia Tech did the right thing. As for losing a few games, VT came close to the Rose Bowl this year. That won't be happening next year.
I think Vick will go Pro and he will end up on some NFL team (Ravens?). The NFL can't seem to get enough of law-breaking players as long as they perform well on the field (J. Lewis, R. Lewis, S. Taylor, half of the Minnesota Vikings, etc., etc.).

Actually, Ray Lewis took a plea deal and pled guilty to Obstruction of Justice and became a witness against the two guys who committed the murder. He did break the law and was on probation for it. He just didn't commit murder.

If there is a God and if He has a sense of humor, Vick will end up with the Cardinals. Ha!
Marcus Vick will find a new home with the Raiders or possibly Cowboys.

Parcells fired Quincy Carter for fewer transgressions than Vick has already committed. I doubt he will end up in Dallas. Oakland, on the other hand, could be an option. It really is becoming a "black hole" as far as careers are concerned. However, if Tice ends up at Oakland I would anticipate he would make Brad Johnson his starter, so Vick might be back-up at best.

Marcus Vick will likely go the same route as Maurice Clarett -- late round draft pick, rookie minimum contract, cut during training camp. Probably ends up in the Arena League. For what it's worth, it was good to see VT have a spine and cut this cancer from the team. Surprised to see, however, that he decided not to continue pursuing a degree. That's right...no football, no scholarship.
On a separate VT topic...what's up with the right side of Frank Beamer's face? Did he have a skin graft or something?

Whatever you say about Marcus Vick, he will never be as good as his more talented brother Michael Vick. Michael Vick is a legend. I'm sure Michael is very embarrassed of his brother but will not say so publicly for fear of hurting Marcus's feelings. Besides, mom...I mean Vick's mom...would not like it.

He'll get picked up by some NFL team but will probably get arrested again before he ver plays a game. Good riddance to that POS
Beamer got burned when he was a kid and had to have skin grafts.
In related news, Marcus was arrested this weekend in Suffolk for pulling a gun on 3 kids outside a McDonald's. At least he's taking the dismissal from the team the right way. He's a real stand-up kid.
Mike Vick doesnt even consider him his brother anymore

But a fork in this dude. He is done. He needs to realize he needs to be ON a team with a MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT before he pulls this shit. What a moron.
Marcus Vick will probably not be drafted, but will definitely be picked up by some team, he will probably convert to a WR, like Randle El and Eric Crouch

I agree. I think he will be a walk-on and will be used as a third receiver and/or back-up QB for some crappy team like the Texans. He will be lucky if he doesn't end up in the AFL, NFL Europe or CFL.

What is his current status? Is he not on a team now?
When did Ron Mexico ever have a "good name"? All of the trash that comes from the Norfolk, Hampton, Chesapeake, Newport News "Tidewater Area", etc. have all been mostly overrated.
Plus VT is overrated. Always has, always will be. They are the Atlanta Braves of college football, except they never and will never win a championship.
