Police say a Manassas man attempted to sell prescription drugs to a Centreville woman, who stole them.
Police were called to the 7600 block of Callan Drive in the Manassas area at 8:04 p.m. Saturday, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.
Police said Brandon William Gardner told them that a man assaulted him and stole his prescription medications, Perok said.
As police investigated they found “many inconsistencies” in Gardener’s statements, Perok said.
Police eventually determined that Gardner arranged to sell Oxycodone to his acquaintance, Michelle Elizabeth L’Ecuyer, but after meeting Gardner at his house, L’Ecuyer took the drugs and left the house while Gardner was in another room, Perok said.
Gardner, 26, of 7659 Callan Drive in Manassas, was arrested and charged with filing a false police report and distributing a schedule I or II narcotic.
Police also obtained a warrant charging L’Ecuyer, 22, of 5301 Braddock Ridge Drive in Centreville, with grand larceny, but have been unable to locate her.
Police said L’Ecuyer is white, 5 feet, 2 inches tall 120 pounds and thin, with brown hair and brown eyes.
