My power went out at 3:30. It took them THREE FUCKING HOURS to get my power back on!

Hey dipshit, be happy your power went off before the winds came. Mine went off at 5pm, after they could no longer go up on those poles in the high winds. I'm out for the rest of the night, I'm sure. Now my head is ringing because my generator is humming right outside.

Yeah, I know. It is an entitled person's problem. But it really woke up my tinitus. It's one of those cheap chinese 1kW (really 750kW and then not even barely that) 2-stroke gas powered generators you can get for $179 online. It's like somebody left a lawnmower idling on your patio.

But it's enough to run two lamps and keep a charge on my phone and laptop.

Fortunately mine went out early too. They had it back on in an hour. I was impressed. At this point, if its out for you, you're probably looking at tomorrow some time.

I'm hopeful it'll be back on by mid-afternoon, maybe even earlier.

Parts of my neighborhood still have power, others are dark. Drove up to downtown Mclean around 10:30, Giant was dark w/ emergency lights, the shell was open, the other gas stations were dark. Some lights were working, others weren't.

Shouldn't be like after the derecho, I hope.
