All Fairfax County public schools will be closed on Monday, October 29, and Tuesday, October 30. All Fairfax County public schools offices will be closed on Monday, October 29. An assessment for office re-opening will be made on Monday afternoon. The following activities in schools and on school grounds will be canceled on Monday and Tuesday:
• extracurricular activities
• interscholastic contests
• team practices
• field trips
• middle school after-school programs
• professional learning and training courses
• all adult and community education classes
• recreation programs and community use by outside groups not affiliated with FCPS
Weather personnel are not to report to work. School Age Child Care (SACC) centers will be closed.

When the power goes out, why not open some of the schools with power so we can warm up, and more importantly, use the interwebs?

Although schools will be closed for two days for no good reason we would like to remind you Fairfax has the best school system in the country and the teachers deserve yet another raise.
